Local pubs and restaurants
Very close to us in the village are the
Parklands Hotel and
The Inn With The Well (the
only pub/restaurant directly on the western half of the Ridgeway).
Bentley’s restaurant at Parkland's Hotel. Their opening times
for lunch and dinner are:
Lunch: Monday to Sunday (Closed Wednesday) 12.00 to 14.00
Dinner: Monday to Saturday 18.30 to 20.30, Sunday, Public and Bank Holidays
18.00 to 19.30
Non-residents are requested to make a reservation (01672 841555). Attendance
without a reservation may be met but can not be guaranteed, particularly so for
Sunday, Public and Bank Holidays. At lunch time (without prior notice) they may
only be offering their starter and lighter selections.
The Inn With The Well's opening hours for drinks (from 14th June) are as follows:
Mon & Tues 4pm to close
Wed to Sat Noon to close
Sun Noon to 10.00 p.m.
Food is available 12.00 to 2.30 Wed to Sun,
Evenings 6.30 to 8.30 only. It's best to phone them (01672
841445) and book in advance to make sure you get a table.

A walk to Ogbourne St.Andrew takes you to another pub/restaurant. It was
called The Wheatsheaf, but has recently been renamed
Silks On The
Downs.
In AIn Aldbourne (three miles or five minutes by car) close to the pond in the
middle of the village, are two pub/restuarants,
The Blue Boar
and The Crown
Six miles away (or ten minutes by car) in Bishopstone the
Royal Oak
serves great food with organic produce from
Helen Browning's Eastbrooke
farm. It's also in the GoodGood Food Guide 2011. They also
offer a free Land Rover take-home service for people eating in their
restaurant (but do phone them to check availability).
Three miles away in
Marlborough are many more restaurants.
